Kyosho Optima Turbo (For Mark)

For Mark

Hi Mark.

Below is a list of the parts that I would suggest that you replace due to being bent or suspected of being damaged.

In my opinion, all the parts I have arrowed above need to be replaced as the front right wheel has been pushed back. The straightness of the surrounding parts cannot be guaranteed and should therefore be replaced. The tie rods should also be replaced.

The front wheel has been pushed back as can be seen in the above picture.

The parts above are direct replacements for what you need. The parts include the rear shock tower which is also bent.

The above rear shock shafts are bent and the parts you will need are pictured above.

The shock bodies are heavily scored meaning that the shock ride height collars do not fully operate and therefore should be replaced.

The picture above shows a bent rear shock and deep scoring to the shock body.

The above parts hold the pivot pin for the front arms and are probably also bent. Whilst the car is being repaired, I would think it wise to replace these two parts as well.

I cannot find the front shock shafts sold separately but they are available as part of a kit. The shock bodies are also included in the kit.

There is also a part missing that should go between the front bumper and the front differential cover (orange arrows) as can be seen in the picture above. The front bumper is also twisted making me believe the the front differential cover is also bent twisted.
Also I have put your buggy along side my Optima to show how the wheels should be set up. All four of your wheels should be straight up and down, where yours are pointed inwards.

Another comparison of the wheels this time from the rear.

Once you have replaced the above parts Mark, I would test the buggy to ensure it runs in a straight line and doesn't turn when running straight. If the buggy doesn't run in a straight line, there is either further bent parts or the geometry isn't set correctly.

Unfortunately I cannot find the build instructions for my Optima as I have recently moved house, but as soon as I find them I will upload them to this page.

Above are the parts I bought for the Turbo. It's a shame but I suppose I'll sell them on ebay and hopefully get my money back.

I hope the pictures and the part numbers help.
Take care Mark,
Kindest regards,
Barry
