Tamiya Super Sabre Rerelease (58728)

Hello fellow RC enthusiasts from around the world, I hope you are all well.
In the last couple of days, Tamiya have announced they are going to rerelease the Super Sabre and if you have read my previous posts you will be aware I have to buy this kit. I say that because the Super Sabre was my very first hobby grade car and I loved it and always regretted selling it. It was originally released in 1987 and I bought mine in the January of 1988. The original cars can still be found on auction sites but do command a lot of money and I'm not willing to spend that amount of money.
However, Tamiya have thrown a life line for people like myself by releasing the kit once again. However, I will to wait until November to get my hands on one as that is when it is released in the UK. It will cost approx £225 and is supplied with a 540 type motor and an electronic speed controller (esc), which I think is good value.
As you can see in the picture above, the new box has 2023 printed on it (red arrow).
Some people (including myself) will be disappointed that the new Super Sabre kit comes with the bodyshell pre cut and pre painted in silver, just like the box art. However, I'm sure Tamiya will rerelease a separate, clear and uncut bodyshell in the near future and you can use your own paint scheme!
As I stated earlier, I owned, built, bashed and raced my own Super Sabre back in 1988 and that I regretted selling it. My memories of the car was that it had poor steering, the shocks were too stiff, the tyre compound too hard and it never won a race, but what I will say is, it was a tough car and took a punishing from me and never let me down. I did break parts but the replacements were very cheap and readily available.
So, now that Tamiya are rereleasing the Super Sabre, I will be pre-ordering mine today ready for delivery at the back end of November 2023. Happy days.

Small update Guys 2/12/23 @ 20.24hrs UK
The Super Sabre rerelease has been pushed back until 20/12/23. What a shame. I would also assume, with the date being so close to Christmas day, it has a chance of not being delivered until maybe the 27/12/23. I had planned to start the build on Christmas day, but hey-ho, we can't always have what we want, when we want it.
